Wildturtle used to hold multiple top Challenger spots, including number 1, and his NA LCS performance showed why. Currently TSM is 2nd and Wildturtle’s performance might be why they are not holding onto number 1. Right now his spot on the roster is safe for this week but if he can’t fix his in game stats he might be benched. This great article by Empyre for goldper10.com goes on to say:
As mentioned in the announcement, the primary reason for this move is to motivate WildTurtle to improve his gameplay, which has incredibly dipped. While the marksman has always had trouble with positioning and prone to using aggressive flashes, he is currently one of the worst players in his roles statistically.

But they raise a good point. These are athletes who play to win. All it take is one player not giving 110% for the entire team to fall. This kind of thing happens all the time in “real” sports like baseball and football, and the consequences there are just as great. Its not a total loss tho. Maybe this could be the kick in the pants that Wildturtle needs to avoid being traded, or worse yet– being sent back down to the minors… Be sure to check out the full article to see for yourself.
