Lolesports has added on to their top list for players at Worlds today, with a top laner and a mid laner, each able to carry their team to victory! Landing at 16 is AHQ’s top laner Ziv, Taiwan’s LMS Summer Split MVP, and he fully deserved that title. Check out how Frank Fields describes Ziv’s MVP play:
In team fights, Ziv represents a player that is impossible to predict. He doesn’t just peel for his AD carry An, and he doesn’t always dive an enemy backline. Ziv’s actions are based on moments of opportunity and a keen sense for making the right decision. He initiates team fights, makes snap decisions to pick off opponents, and makes game-changing saves of his own carries. Particularly on tanks like Maokai, Ziv has become an unstoppable force.
Most importantly, Ziv is an extremely intelligent player. Both analysts and opposing teams have been surprised at how often Ziv and ahq jungler Mountain end up in perfect flanking position before locking down enemy ADCs. It’s not just something that Ziv lucks into — his intuition and game sense are top class among all top laners.
Sounds like a terror in lane and in team fights, quite fitting for a MVP level player, which leads us to #15, NA LCS Spring MVP TSM’s Bjergsen! Josh Augustine gives us a great look at this dominate mid laner. Bjergsen has been a top player every since he entered the LCS, whether it was in EU or NA. Now with this is his second trip to Worlds, lets see why he is on this list:
The Great Dane loves highly mobile assassins that let him pop in and out of the combat zone. He identifies the biggest threat on the opposing team, and then strikes with surgical precision at the very moment that those targets are most vulnerable. After he sends them back to base or eliminates the threat, he makes a quick retreat and starts positioning for his next assassination.
Bjergsen isn’t just a sneaky assassin though. He’s a threat even on utility champions like Lulu, which he’ll happily play if that’s what it takes for TSM to achieve victory. But where he’s most recently shined is on control mages like Azir, giving TSM the opportunity to pick and choose their engagements by strategically splitting enemy squads apart. He expertly manipulates the landscape of team fights, and is often the reason TSM slingshots into the lead.
Bjergsen might be lucky going into Worlds, as the 5.18 patch seems to be a patch where assassins can thrive, and that means teams will have to focus even more resources towards TSM’s star.
