SKT has taken the OGN Summer Finals! Last time they did this was 2013, the same year they won worlds, are we looking at a repeat? We might be, as the team has stated they will do their best for the fans at worlds, and their best is pretty good. Translated from the original interview here, Baron Timer has the team’s post win responses. First off, seeing how the team views their Spring and Summer win streak:
Q. With today’s Summer Season win, you were successful in pulling off a consecutive 2 season win streak?
Head Coach Choi Byung-hoon (L.i.E.S): I’m very proud. We didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for the Finals matches, but our players and coaching staff all worked so hard regardless. I’m proud that we got a result that we could be satisfied with.
Coach Kim Jung-kyun (KkOma): Our gameplay today came out really well. But there still were some mistakes. We will improve upon those mistakes and win the World Championship this year no matter what.
MaRin: It is our 2nd Season win. I am very happy that we were able to win all the tournaments that were open this year. I hope that we will be able to win all the Seasons next year as well.
Tom: I wasn’t able to play in the series today, but I’m happy that we won quickly with a 3:0.
Bengi: It’s my 4th Season win and it was a new experience because I wondered, “I’m at 4 Season wins?” I’m not completely satisfied with the plays today. I’ll work even harder to show you better plays.
Easyhoon: I’m a bit disappointed that I did not get to play today. But like our Head Coach said, I’m glad that our hard work and efforts were translated into good results today.
Faker: Our great results stemmed from practices. I’m glad that we were able to retain that form coming into the Finals. We’ll ride this flow and keep our sights on a World Championship victory.
Bang: I worried a lot about the Finals. But I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. I want to maintain this form all the way to Worlds.
Wolf: I was also very worried about the Finals. I’m now very relaxed and feel very happy because we had such great results.
Scout: Going forward, I will continue to work hard so that I will be able to play and show you great gameplay!
